Installing SportsPress for Baseball

Install SportsPress for Baseball in your WordPress site to apply baseball-specific terminology and the partial-innings notation. Confirm the following before activating.

Requirements

  • SportsPress 2.6.17 or newer (free or Pro)

  • The sportspress-for-baseball.zip file from your ThemeBoy account

Steps

  1. Confirm SportsPress is active under Plugins.

  2. Go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin.

  3. Upload sportspress-for-baseball.zip.

  4. Click Install Now, then Activate.

On first activation the plugin runs an installer that creates a pitcher_ip performance post (innings pitched) if one doesn't already exist, and sets its sp_partial_innings meta value to 1 so partial-inning notation is enabled by default for that statistic.

Verification

  1. Go to SportsPress → Configure. Confirm baseball-specific labels are present (Games, Fields).

  2. Go to SportsPress → Performance and confirm a pitcher_ip (Innings Pitched) performance type exists with the Partial Innings option enabled.

  3. Edit any event and confirm the post type label reads Game rather than Event.
