Twitter

Display Twitter feeds on team, player, and staff pages by connecting their Twitter handles to SportsPress records. The extension adds a Twitter handle field to each post type, registers a "Tweets" template section on those pages, and exposes theme and tweet-count settings under SportsPress general settings.

What it does

  • Adds a Twitter meta box (key sp_twitter) to teams, players, and staff post types

  • Registers a Tweets template section on team, player, and staff pages, enabled by default

  • Adds Theme (light/dark) and Limit (default 3 tweets) settings under SportsPress → Settings → General → Twitter

  • Adds a "Tweets" entry to the SportsPress text options table for label localisation

  • Loads css/sportspress-twitter.css on the frontend for embed styling

When to use it

Use this extension when teams, players, or coaches actively post to Twitter and you want their feeds to appear on their SportsPress profile pages. The extension reuses Twitter's official embed widget, so authentication and rate-limiting are handled by Twitter directly.
