Creating a Sponsor
Navigate to Sponsors → Add New Sponsor to open the new sponsor screen.
This feature is part of SportsPress Pro.
Standard Fields
Name — The sponsor's name. This is the post title; the placeholder text reads "Name". Appears in directory listings and on the sponsor's public page.
Permalink — Auto-generated URL slug based on the name. Click Edit to customise it.
Editor (Bio/Description) — Visual/text editor for content on the sponsor's profile page. Supports all standard WordPress editor features including shortcodes and formatting.
User — Assign a WordPress user to grant full editing access to this sponsor record.
Attributes
Order — Numeric value controlling the default display sequence when sponsors are sorted by menu order (ascending). Set a lower number to display a sponsor earlier. This is the "Menu Order" field in the Page Attributes meta box.
Logo
The Logo meta box replaces the standard Featured Image meta box. Click Select Logo to upload or select an image from the media library. This image is used as the sponsor's logo across all display contexts (header, footer, shortcode, and sponsor page).
Details
The Details sidebar meta box contains the following fields:
Site URL — The website address to redirect visitors when they click the sponsor's logo or the "Visit Site" button. Stored as
sp_urlpost meta. A "Visit Site" preview link appears below the field when a URL is entered.Impressions — Read-only counter showing the number of times this sponsor has been displayed to visitors. Stored as
sp_impressionspost meta. This field cannot be edited manually.Clicks — Read-only counter showing the number of times visitors have clicked this sponsor. Stored as
sp_clickspost meta. This field cannot be edited manually.
Sponsorship Level
Assign a level (e.g. Gold, Silver, Bronze) using the Level taxonomy meta box in the sidebar. Levels must be created first under Sponsors → Levels.
Publishing
Click Publish to make the sponsor live. Once published, impressions begin counting when the sponsor is displayed and clicks begin counting when visitors click the sponsor's logo or "Visit Site" button.
