Minimum Requirements
SportsPress and SportsPress Pro have specific WordPress, PHP, and server requirements. Check the sections below before installing to confirm your hosting environment is compatible.
WordPress
SportsPress Pro requires WordPress 3.8 or newer. The plugin header declares Requires at least: 3.8 and has been Tested up to: 6.8.1 (as of version 2.7.28). Keeping WordPress current is recommended for security.
PHP
Requires PHP 5.2.4 or higher. A memory allocation of at least 64 MB is recommended for smooth operation. Guidance for increasing the PHP memory limit is available in the WordPress documentation.
MySQL
WordPress requires MySQL 5.0 or greater.
Permalink Settings
WordPress must be configured with any permalink structure other than "Plain." The minimum recommended setting is Day and name or any other non-plain structure. Using "Plain" permalinks breaks scheduled event display.
Navigate to Settings > Permalinks in WordPress admin to check and update this setting.
Browser Support
No specific browser requirements beyond standard WordPress admin compatibility.
Additional Notes
SportsPress Pro bundles the free SportsPress core plugin as a submodule. The standalone free plugin from WordPress.org should not be active at the same time — SportsPress Pro automatically deactivates it.
WordPress Multisite is supported with a League or Agency license.
