Managing Teams
The Teams list screen is where you create, edit, sort, and assign teams to competitions. This article walks through the columns, filters, and assignment actions available there.
The Teams List Screen
Navigate to Teams > Teams in the WordPress dashboard to reach the Teams list screen. This screen lists all team posts in a standard WordPress post-list table.
Columns
The list displays the following columns by default:
Logo — the team's featured image shown as a small thumbnail (the
sportspress-fit-miniimage size)Team — the post title; clicking it opens the team edit screen
Short Name — the value stored in the Short Name field; shows a dash when empty
Abbreviation — the value stored in the Abbreviation field; shows a dash when empty
Leagues — all league taxonomy terms assigned to the team, comma-separated
Seasons — all season taxonomy terms assigned to the team, comma-separated
Filtering
Two dropdown filters appear above the list:
Show all leagues — filters the list to teams assigned to a specific league
Show all seasons — filters the list to teams assigned to a specific season
Select a value from either dropdown and click Filter to narrow the list.
Bulk Actions
Standard WordPress bulk actions are available:
Check one or more team rows using the checkboxes.
Select an action from the Bulk actions dropdown — Edit or Move to Trash.
Click Apply.
Bulk Edit opens an inline panel where you can change the author, status, or other common fields for all selected teams at once. Team-specific meta fields (abbreviation, short name, leagues, seasons) are not editable through bulk edit.
Quick Edit
Hover over a team row and click Quick Edit to open an inline form without leaving the list. Quick Edit lets you change:
Title (team name)
Slug (permalink)
Date and Status
Password
Team-specific fields such as leagues, seasons, abbreviation, and short name require opening the full edit screen.
Screen Options
Click Screen Options in the top-right corner to show or hide individual columns and control the number of items displayed per page.
